Bautista's contract ends after the 2016 season.

The 35 year old will earn $14M this year. His numbers were impressive for 2015,  250/.377/.536 with 40 homers and 114 RBI over 153 games.

Yankee Bird Droppings

NEW YORK - The New York Yankees were dealt a huge blow when they discovered their 23 year old phenom Greg Bird will spend the entire 2016 season on the DL with a shoulder injury.

Bird filled Mark Teixeira's role last season on first base without a hitch, with impressive numbers...
BA .261, OBP .343 SLG .529 OPS .871 and 11 home runs  in only 46 appearances.

The Yankees are pondering whether or not they will look for a replacement.

Who will fill Revere's Shoes as lead off...

TORONTO - It seems that Troy Tulowitzki will be that guy.

When you think of a lead off batter, you think of two things, speed and on base percentage.

Of the two, getting on base is the number one requirement, especially when you have players with the hitting credentials of Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion in the 2, 3 and 4 spots.

Tulo struggled as a lead off hitter when he first arrived in Toronto last season, but I think he's settled in now and will be an excellent hitter in that role for the 2016 season.
